Mould on my pram ... HELP!!

Please, someone tell me they know how to get mould off a pram :pray: (and it's my friggen P&T pram :cry:). We've had 16 days of rain, and finally some sun today, so I want to tackle it. Any ideas? It's on the sides part of the pram, not the seat part.

The fabric is backed with a water-resistant coating. Brush off dirt. More intense cleaning can be done by hand, in warm water, using a mild natural soap. Rinse out soap. Do not use detergents or bleach. Air dry.

What would be a mild natural soap I could use? Would it be enough?

i cleaned mine with vinegar and then put tea tree oil on it. it worked and havent had any more mould. I also store it inside now.

We always have ours inside, but my MIL decided to take the girls for a walk the other day, in the rain, with my pram. And when she got back she just stored it in the laundry without even telling me, and it was still wet! :wall:

you can get some exit mould to from the supermarket hon.

Ive washed mine in the washing machine with normal washing powder :lol: and it worked well

Sorry but in my experince, that is such a MIL thing to do. A toothbrush will help get into the small hard to reach places, I clean ours with diluted detol, the anti mold products have cholrine in them so may bleach your pram

Oh, a timely thread! I have to clean mould off my P&T pram too. It sits on our front porch and must have gotten wet :doh:.

Can I ask a silly question alioops? How did you apply the vinegar and then the tea tree oil? I like your suggestion and want to give it a go, but not sure the best way to apply it! (Sorry, I'm definitely not a cleaning guru LOL)

I used exit mould on camp chairs, and the playgroup playmat base both have use mild soap only the exit mould removed the mould and didn't bleach you can always try it in a small spot maybe under the seat where you wont see it etc

spray bottle and scrubbing brush. the hair dryer is important too, stops it from spreading.

I ended up using diluted deottol with a scrubing brush as that's all I had and it's turned up beautifully again :)

I've used exit mould on prams too with no problems. I spray it on, leave it for a few mins then hose it off and scrub it then chuck all the covers and seatbelts I can remove from the pram into the washing machine. Comes up good as new every time.

I have the same problem although mine has something to do with grubby little mits - being left outside - humid weather! Will give this a go Jodi!! My jobbie for the day.;)

Is this a common problem with all prams or more so with P&T's? I had it on my P&T pram too but not on my old cheapie. I ended up having to cut the white straps off the front because they were absolutely disgusting and nothing I did got rid of it. If it a common P&T thing, maybe we should feedback. The mould on my pram was really bad, and it hadn't even got wet!

hmmm, interesting. Now that you mention it, I have a cheapie stroller in the garage which has gotten wet many times, and it's never got mould on it. Maybe it's the fabric on the P&T's??

My friend's P&T is covered with mould too.....makes you think doesn't it? I wonder if the company is aware of it.

I emailed them last week when this happened looking for advice and I never received a reply from them.
