DD's birthday is in August, our new bubba will be 3 months old then.
We had DD's naming day when she was 3 months old. MIL is coming over from NZ for DD's second B'day so i was thinking about combining DD's birthday with a naming day for our new bub.
Usually i'm not keen on combining things but being that MIL will be here it might be easier.
WDYT - is it fair on DD to share her b'day with a special occasion for bubba and vice versa??
i would do it purely for the reason that MIL is coming over and it would be nice for her and the children for her to attend both
Yeah she's still so young I doubt it will bother her ;)
If it helps at all, I was going to have the naming ceremony for both girls (even though they are 16 months apart haha) in September when all my family was coming down for my nana' 90th birthday party.
Unfortunately nan passed away, so who knows when its going to happen now.
But - I think its fine if you do that.
I think it is a lovely idea to combine both events due to your MIL being here. She gets to be a part of two important events in your childrens lives
As she is so young she won't know what day she celebrated her birthday as long as she can blow out the candles. :)

... my DD when 2 wouldn't have cared less, for her it was all about balloons, birthday cake & her little friends being there ... and of course Nan being there would have been even nicer ;)
I reckon go for it. I'd be more concerned about your youngest being upset about sharing: you only get one naming day, but you get a lot of birthdays.
If the children don't mind (or, at that age, notice) then why worry?

DS shared his naming day with his dad's 35th birthday :dunno: so I reckon it's a good idea :D especially when family is travelling.
We did DS's naming day early arvo and had that all about him and then DH's turn came in the evening.
I don't think it would be a problem, the only other option is to do them over a weekend, one of each day so there is a little separation, but if you are haivng generally the same people at both it would be a lot to expect them to come to two events in one weekend, so combining them sounds perfect :)
My DD's are 8 days apart so they shared their 1st/4th birthday party and will probably do so for the foreseeable future - I think it's nice to have a double celebration especially when family is travelling to be there.
