OK, my time for a whinge..... 18 month old weeing in cot :S

DD is an excellent sleeper (average 2-4 hours during the day and 12-14 overnight). Mayb one wake up overnight once a month. But for the past couple months she has been weeing in her bed just during the daytime sleep. She self settles 100% of the time. But mucks around. Doesnt matter if she goes to bed at 12pm or 4pm, same result. She will take her pants off, her nappy off and wee in her bed. And its driving me insane. She clearly knows this is wrong and once i change her bed, her clothes etc, she will go straight to sleep.

I have been told mayb she is ready for TT??? Im just not sure...

DS1 pulls pants off but cant get to nappy as I use the singlets that do up at crouch (he can open press studs but doesnt seem to reaslise thats what doing up singlet between his legs).

Maybe try them. Or try putting nappy on back to front.

It could be that she is ready to toilet train. Have you maybe thought about sitting her on the toilet before nap/sleep times?

Feeb - I was kinda hoping I wouldnt need to go buy them suits. She doesnt usually wear a singlet anymore because even in cooler weather, she gets over heated quite quickly. But I will keep them in mind, thanks :) Not sure how she would go with the nappy on backwards when she has a poo splosion as the Huggies are narrower at the front?!?! But still, ill give it a try :)

Lisaandshaun - No I havent. I have never put her on the toilet TBH. She is quite dry when shes awake and can go hours without weeing. Ive heard this can be another sign she is ready. But she still so little and DF doesnt think she is quite there "mentally" and wont understand. Me on the other hand, i think she would?!? nothing hurts trying right?

we resorted to taping Jacks nappies, a piece of heavy duty masking tape works a treat :)

I had to :lol: a little at this - one of the children I care for, without exception, everyday last week took their nappy off at afternoon sleep time and weed in the bed. He has just turned 1.

I think it is worth trying to toilet train - it can't hurt, even if her signs are subconscious they are still signs... Otherwise nappy on back to front or tape is worth a try. Does she get clothes off too? Could you just put a pair of undies on over the top??

I think you should give TT-ing a go. If it isn't going well after about 3 or 4 days then forget it for another few months.

Otherwise, what about a pull up for naps? The Huggies Nappy Pants have the same absorbency as a regular nappy. My 17 month old DD knows how to take off her nappy but hasn't figured out the Nappy Pants.

Yeah DC, she can take all her clothes off and even put her pants back on lol (so much practice i guess, seeming i told her to do it herself coz she kept taking them off! lmao)

Must be a girl thing - taking clothes off ??? DS is hopeless the only thing he can take off are his shoes and socks!!

oh that would be nice! DD just likes being naked.. hahaha.. strange child i have though :p

DD1 did this too, i used cloth with her so no matter what nappy she had on i used pants that i could tie at the waist, the she couldnt get them off

I would also suggest TT as it seems to me she is giving clear signs that she is 'saving' it for just before nap time.

We've been doing very gentle TT with DD and started when she was about 14mo as she poo'd in the bath two nights in a row, having never ever poo'd in there before, usually did it in her high chair during dinner time. I read this as a sign that something was different for her, so we bought a potty and would sit her on it before bath time every night. We have now progressed to the big girls toilet with a seat insert and generally get something almost every night.

Yep. I have had to do this before for a couple of kids. Crotch snapping tops are a great idea too.

jack could get a nappy off while in a bonds wondersuit :lol: i do not know how but he could :lol:
