Shocked and worried

Hi everyone

I am new to this site as I’ve only just found out I am six weeks pregnant.

I wanted to touch base and see if any one else has ever been in my situation as I am little worried.

I had surgery 5 weeks ago for my endometriosis so you can probably understand my shock to find out I was actually pregnant before having my surgery as I like most never though it was ever possible.

I have had polycystic ovaries and endo since I was about 16 and had been told for over 10 years I would have trouble conceiving, and very unlikely that I ever would so I never in my wildest dreams thought this would happen.

So anyways turns out I must of fallen 2 days before my surgery but it must not have dropped as I’d had my tubes flushed and everything, or the Dr said it could have stuck to the side of the tube and held on for dear live which in turn makes it a determined little bugger…

The doctors say the drugs and surgery etc will not affect the baby but I am still worried so that’s why wondering if anyone has any similar stories.

Although I am extremely shocked, I am also very excited and so thrilled to be having a baby.

I dont have any advice for you, however I wanted to welcome you to BB and congratulations on your pregnancy. Must have a very determind little one there!

Huge congrats on this very special pregnancy! You do have one very determined bubba in there. I can imagine you must feel pretty stressed but try and enjoy our little miracle!

Hi just wanted to say i had surgery before i found out i was pregnant i was 3 weeks then after i found out i freaked about all the drugs i was told that early in pregnancy before you know that the placenta has not yet taken over to nourish the baby so none of the drugs can cross over to the baby it is when the placenta is functioning that drugs ect can cross over as it turned out we lost our daughter at 20 weeks due to a genetic condition nothing to do with the surgery we had to end the pregnancy after she survived me having surgery and i had whooping cough a chest infection i was on antibiotics i was so sick but nothing seemed to bother her.

Hi Ladies,

Apologies for not responding to your posts earlier. I was unfortunate to have a miscarriage just over 3 weeks
ago so have been dealing with the hormones and processing emotions. I had a horrible 2 weeks as I was
still getting over the shock of being pregnant and then it all was taken away from me. My body didn't
know what to think and neither did I... I had some time off work and did a few therapy sessions and I seem
to be coping better now and doing ok. We are trying again and as much as I think it may be too early
I am hoping that it has already happened but I know I am being very impatient.

ITs hard though as I don't know how to stop from wanting it to happen again right now... What will be will
be though as like you all, we have no control over making it happen.

I just hope it doesn't take months and months. I hope that having had all the surgery will help it happen soon.
There is always the risk the endo will grow back so I want to take evevery opportunity.
