whopping cough needle

Taking little Miss to get her whopping cough needle today, the nurse said to have baby panadol on hand just in case.

has anyones babies had a bad reaction to this? or any reaction

DD hasn't had any reaction at all to any of her needles so far, probably just jinxed myself though..lol.
I would have baby panadol just in case, but I never needed to use it. They used to recommend giving them panadol before their needle but you shouldn't need to do it. Good luck!

isnt the first lot of immunisations at 2 months?

we have been told to get the whopping cough done at 6 weeks

oh, ok. well it is a bit hit and miss if they get fevers etc. DD1 did at the 2 month ones and nothing else. DD2 did at the 6 month ones and nothing else. i was always told dont give panadol before hand but have it handy just in case.

DS had his on Weds just gone and we had no temperature but the pneumococcal one left a raised red leg for the rest of that day. He was fine until about 5 hours after the needles then we got about 2 hours of really unsettled grizzly crying stuff. He had no temperature but I think was generally not a happy chappy and maybe the rotavirus syrup had upset his tummy a bit....we gave him some infant panadol and he settled right down pretty quickly....gave him another dose at bedtime and he has been fine since then. So in the scheme of things he probably had a very mild reaction so not too bad overall...hope that helps.....

DD had hers at 6 weeks and no problems at all. She was a bit whingy after her 4 month old needles but still not a major problem, just oodles of kisses and cuddles. Good luck hun.

I cried as well lol couldnt help it ,held them in untill we got out of the room then bawled ..

we got some panadol in case, hope she doesnt react , the nurse said they can get real windy and un settled tummy temp etc,she gets windy enough as it is so i hope we dont get any probs there

i think seeing her get her needles was harder than labour BAHAHAHAHAH

Awww hun :hug: thats the worst part! As I said DD got belly pains after the 2nd lot but not at 6 weeks. I hope your little one is ok and your tears dry up real soon ;)
