amniotic leak?!?? (TMI warning)

hey ladies,
for those of you that have bubs already, what does amniotic fluid smell like?
im not sure if im being paranoid (spent wed & thurs in hosp cos of some bleeding from an unknown source) but i think i hav a slow leak of amniotic fluid.
ive had wet undies once today (now put a pad on) and it didnt smell like urine. i think it was too wet to be moisture from discharge. i had a little bit while in hosp on thurs but then it wasnt enough to tell if it was moisture from discharge and everything else looked good so they let me come home. i had this a few weeks ago to the point i thought i was getting incontinence already but then it stopped so i didnt really worry too much about it. ive also had some random pain but i think ive tracked that pain down to wind... :redface:
now we hav had the scare with unexplained bleeding im freaking out about every small ache and pain in case bubs is trying to come early (im only 31weeks).
im booked in to see my GP for the 32wk checkup on wed.

Waters have been known to smell like Semen... but personally idk, ive never sniffed it lol.

Even if it is leaking, it can still heal itself.

Probably best to go get checked out if your unsure at all though so that if it is your waters, they can take the nessesary steps.

It is sweet smelling, if you are filling a pad over a short period of time it is definitely worth getting it checked out. :hug:

I had a slow hind leak and TBH mine didn't really smell like anything. But what you're describing, sounds a lot like me leak was. I'd definately call your hossy. If you take your pad in there is a swab they can use to tell if it is amniotic fluid or not.

With the amount of fluid you describe I would suggest that it is just discharge. If this amount does not increase significantly then it will be fine to leave things until your doctor’s appointment. Also should it be an amniotic fluid leak then small leaks will often seal themselves without any intervention.
