Are there any shops in Melbourne where you can check out IRL different baby carriers?
I am pretty sure i want an ergo, but also looking for something else now for a newborn. I have a couple of mei teis from the ABA but can't get them right with the tie straps. My walking and balance is still a bit wobbly since the birth, so looking for one which holds bub in the middle (not on one side), but want to try on first.

Yeah Baby Bunting or (not sure where your located) The Baby Gallery in Clayton is like a baby wonderland for parents and parent-to-be!
You could try joining the baby carriers downunder google group they have a loaner library and could probably offer some advice on how to tie mei tie
Bebe in south yarra has a library that for cost of postage they will loan you a carrier for 10 days. They have 5 including the ergo. I did this and when I bought my ergo I got 10% off. It can all be done through their website.
All the ladies have answered on where you can go. Just wanted to say that I love the bubzilla for newborns. DS loved it as he was close and was able to snuggle in., but was laying down and not up right.
GL I have the Ergo also but only used it when DS was older.
