Septate Uterus

Hi Red 31 :hello: and welcome to BB :)

I have a septate uterus, which means the septate goes further down towards the cervix as a comparrison to a subseptate uterus. I had DD almost 2 years ago, she was 7 weeks prem, but is doing quite well now, I had a PPROM which led to her delivery, but the subseptate uterus can also be a cause for premature delviery, so we will never know what really caused it IYKWIM.

I am currently PG with our second, it was originally a twin pregnancy with one twin on either side of the septum and the two sac's were joint at the bottom. But sadly Twin 2 (aka Firefly) didn't make it, and passed away at 8 weeks. But Twin 1 (aka Flicker), is doing well now, and has take over the uterus and move to the left hand side, which is where Twin 2 was, and where DD spent nearly the whole pregnancy.

So we have been very lucky to have had bubs implant mostly on the uterus rather than the septum. This pregnancy they were on both, but with DD she was firmly planted on the Uterus. Another issue that has arisen is that the placenta in this pregnancy has implanted over the top of the septum, where there is limited bloodflow, so my OB has advised that bub may be born small as well, but growth will be monitored throughout the pregnancy to determine how bubs is affected.

I am one of the cases that tends to have a lot of complications, but I have quite a few friends who have septate, sub septate and bicornuate uterus and mave managed to get to full term.

MC is higher with these types of uterus as the septus does not have any blood flow to it, so if bubs implants on the septum then a MC is highly likely, but I have one 100% sucessful pregnancy and this one, 1 out of 2 bubs has made it and is nice and strong :)

There is most definitely hope for you to carry a bubs and even take it to full term :hug:
