Latrobe Health Fund
Sorry if this is in the wrong spot!
I rang I Select to see if we can get a cheaper cover, we have basic hospital plus pregnancy and it's costing us$175 per month. I Select suggested Latrobe Health Fund, said it was cheaper because it was non-for-profit, but I've never heard of them.
Has anyone on here got any feedback, good or bad? How are they when it's time to claim? Or should I run as fast as I can?!!!!
Thanks

Re: Latrobe Health Fund
I hope they're not bad, I signed up with them with the recommendation of iSelect. Latrobe is for pregnancy cover and I split my PHI (again with iSelect recommendations) with AHM. AHM covers alternate therapies.
When I called iSelect I had no idea about PHI so I guess I just had to trust their recommendations.
I hope when it comes time to use their services for pregnancy it covers adequately and it doesn't cost a fortune.

i've been with latrobe for about 10 years - the customer service is fantastic. rebates are really reasonable, fees not bad at all. i've not had any dramas with them at all.

Yep, I have been with them for about 15 years and same as BG, no probs and great customer service.

We have been with them for 9 years and I LOVE them! DH loves the fact they send prepaid envelopes after each claim, rofl....
Seriously have a way better range of products that we have changed with our circs and the customer service has been excellent.

We have been with them for about 5 years and have had no trouble with them

Thanks everyone, looks like I'll be joining them too :D

What do you recon the average price for PHI is?
-
Too much!! LOL
We pay $175 each month for basic hospital plus pregnancy, with a $500 excess. I got the shock of my life when I found out that having pregnancy cover didn't pay for any of my OB visits or scans, grrrrrr. I rekon that anyone with PHI shouldn't have to pay any Medicare levy at all in tax. Aren't we already doing our bit?

We too are with Latrobe and haven't had any issues with them. The only thing you'll need to do is find a health fund in NSW to cover you for Ambulance Cover as Latrobe is a Victorian company. I'm yet to do that for us

Blah!
