My friend's baby will simply not attach (tried everything, seen LC etc etc) so how much EBM would a newborn drink? He is under 2 weeks old.

I've been told babies have around 750 or 800 ml in 24 hours, and to work it out roughly you divide that number by the amount of feeds he has. So if he feeds 8 times a day it'd be 100 ml per feed. There's no exact science though because sometimes they will take more in one feed and less in another.

Ok I think it is 150ml per 1kg body weight divided by the amount of feeds.
So if say he is 4kgs having 8 feeds it would be
4 x 150 divided by 8
I could be wrong but this is what I seem to remember. See if she can get a Lactation Consultant to help with the attachment.
