Signs of returning fertility? WDYT?

Hi there

I am still BF my 15 month old, and cycles have not returned yet. Am keen to start TTC my second so am waiting, waiting, waiting for my fertility to return.

I've noticed over the last week that my skin is a bit oily and not as clear as usual, and that I'm getting more CM. Not EWCM though, creamy. For most of the time I've been BF I've had almost no CM whatsoever.

Does anyone think this might be a sign that perhaps things are starting to go back to normal? For mums whose cycles have been suppressed by BF for a long time, what signs did you get that your cycles might be resuming?

My cycles return around 9-11 months post partum....only suggestion i had that feritlity was approaching was prob more cramping, and increased CM.....but everyone is different....
From what youve said...it sounds like all the signs are there that fertility is approaching...but then, i could be way off.
Maybe just increase DTD.....you may catch the eggy before O......

Thanks for your reply, mbear :). Good to hear that the increased CM was a sign of your fertility returning. I will keep my fingers crossed to see AF before too long.

Hehe, the only sign I got was a positive pregnancy test when my BFing DD was 16 months old!! We weren't even trying...

Hi Bun, I don't think we'll be so lucky unfortunately! Have appointment booked with FS for the 1st of June to see where to go from here. Just would like my body to get its act together by itself. Stoopid hormones.

I've been wondering the same thing. I would be interested in other responses. The last few months I've been thinking AF was coming but to not avail. My skin has turned horrible and I've been getting moody and having cramps.

I too am awaiting my cycle to return although I am no-where near as long as you.

I stopped breastfeeding 2 weeks ago for numerous reasons.

We are alrteady TTC and hoping I catch ovulation the very first time and that I don't see AF.
I'm using OPK so should stand a good chance.

I have noticed increased CM like you, creamy not EWCM and my hair has been greasier, have also
had some aches in lower ab region like the cogs are statring to turn so to speak.

Just thought Id update on my above post.......

AF arrived yesterday, so approx 4 weeks after my last night feed and 2 weeks after my last breastfeed.

I had a defo presence of cramy discharge before hand.

As I said above we are already TTC so unfortunately we missed OV which i'm a bit puzzled about as I was using OPK on a daily basis.

Anyway I now have a AF and can work it for this next cycle which will hopefully be a little more predictive.

I am still bf my dd. She was getting down to 4 a day then she got a cold and a spewing tummy bug so she wouldn't eat anything, she only wanted breastmilk. So now she's back up to about 5-6 in a 24 hr period. She must still be a little off cause she's still not eating much and woke my last night twice for feeds (she normally sleeps through). The last 2 days I have had a LOT of creamy (once it has dried a little) but watery cm. Tonight I actually thought af was back and I ran to the bathroom cause it was almost like a gush!! I have had minor cramping yesterday and more serious cramping today, so that makes me think I have either have implantation cramping or af is on her way... Or lily has given me her tummy bug, but the pain is a bit too low for that. Will keep you posted.
