I need your fashion expertise!

DH and I have a friend's wedding next month...I'm wearing this dress

I'm stumped on what shoes to wear.....gold or bronze?
Is it too casual to wear flat gladiator sandals to a wedding? There isn't a dress code on the invitation but it's at a pretty fancy place, afternoon ceremony and night time reception. I hate wearing heels! Although I prob should as I'm a shorty pants and have a very tall hubby.

Bronze and heels. If it's a fancy place you don't want to feel uncomfortable in flats. A night time time reception would say 'heels' inbetween the lines I think :)
Perhaps the flats to the ceremony would be fine.

i reckon being a night-time reception and pm ceremony that it would be nicer to don the heels...i always go kitten heels if in doubt and if know that i might have to stand for longer periods...also, remember that weddings do involve ALOT of sitting and eating...and by the time the dancing gets going everyone is kicking off the shoes LOL!

yeh i agree with Heather definitely Bronze with that gorgeous dress (hey nice dress by the way) ... i wouldn't risk wearing flat's to a night Wedding no matter how much i too hate wearing heels, ... i get the look you are going for but you might have to make a change with the look to make room for shoes with heels, i also agree with Cassius2 to wear kitten heels, not sure if you can pull it off with that kind of dress to get a sexy look maybe more a pretty look YKWIM, i feel like i wanna put shoes with high straps around your legs, if there any such thing as kitten heels with high tie up strap, or something like that ?? ... and reckon a bag with shiny light coloured fabric would go great too with your lovely dress ;)

I agree the sandals would look great, but a night time wedding really needs heels (unless there's a good reason of course). Stacked heels are very cool ATM and much more comfy.

Yep, definitely heels (and this is from a non-heel wearer) but I'd wear flats to the ceremony to save your feet because hanging around outside/inside is what will kill your feet. You won't notice after a couple of drinks and a bit of a dance.

I'd go bronze or neutral actually. Neutral ie. cream/beige will elongate the leg. Definitely gladiator heels. Chunky heels are more comfortable.

I wore a brown satin dress recently, similar to the brown in your dress. I teamed it with dusty pink heels and a dusty pink hand bag to tie it all in. A splash of colour brings our the whole outfit, and if you pick a pale dusty pink it compliments the tones in the dress.
I say heels, but then again, i ALWAYS say heels!

what a pretty dress. Definitely heels with that dress. I like Dee's idea of dusty pink or similar. Bronze heels might be too much bronze overall.

Either colour would be completely fine and long as you don't over do it with matching jewellery or its going to look a little too much.

If you wear flats and are uncomfortable in heels then wear flats...Other wise you will spend the night thinking "my feet hurt" and its easily seen on your face. I highly doubt anyone will be looking at your feet thinking "omg, she wore flats!?!".

I wear flats a lot since breaking my foot a few years ago and I've never ever had a problem and having been to a few weddings wearing flats I'm usually the only one with my shoes still on at the end of the night.

Hmmm I like the idea of a neutral colour but as my skin is the colour of toffee I'm not sure it'd work KWIM? Neutral for me is more like tan lol
I was also thinking pewter coloured sandals today....might toddle off to the ole 'fashion capital' later this week with dress in tow to suss things out. Mum gave me a $150 DJ's voucher for my birthday but of course DS has pulled it out of my wallet and hidden it somewhere GAHHH.
