Gloves...

Well this is my first winter outside Qld in almost 10 years and I'm freezing my bum off!

I grew up in Tassie so have no idea why I'm felling it so much now.

I've got plenty of warm clothes but I'm still constantly cold, so I was wondering if everyone here wears gloves?

Do they help? Leather or knitted?

ooh, I'm a glove freak. I have heaps of pairs. I think that if you're only buying one pair a lined leather pair would be best. They look better if you need to be a bit dressed up and the lining makes them warmer than unlined leather.
Get some merino thermals too and some nice warm hats and scarves.

Yeah I'm eyeing off a really nice leather pair from mimco for night time and going out. Still need to find something for the day time though! Have heaps of scarves that I stocked up on last year when we moved down in autumn.

Is it hard to do things with them on? Only ever worn gloves to the show lol

It's easy to do big handed stuff like ride a bike, drive a car, drink a coffee outdoors and so on. If you need to do something fiddly like do up a small button then they generally have to come off.

I recommend half hand gloves for driving, and just in the house. myer sells them, and I've seen some at target too..

1/2 hand as in fingerless or something else?

Oooh I wanted a pair of brown leather gloves last winter and never got around to it...this year is the year I reckon!! :D

I have a great pair of sort of half gloves, the tips of the fingers are chopped off, so I can do buttony things, BUT there is a mitten part that pulls over to keep the tips warm when I need. Awesome.

They're called shooter's gloves Nelle. DH loves his because you get fingery dexterity and mitteny warmth.

I have big fat hands, so gloves don't fit. As a consequence, I hate gloves. They point out my big fatness.

I just stick my hands in my pockets to keep them warm. And make DH hold DS's hand when we're out together, so his hands can get cold.
