Spots
I don't know what to do i'm so spotty :( I'm over it...totally over it. They're on my face, my neck, my back and even now on the top of my arms and my shoulders.
It's like the fitter I am, the worse they get. Most times I can come home and shower straight away after the gym, sometimes I can't but I try to as soon as possible. It's affecting my classes, i'm losing confidence on stage because i'm worried about my skin.
I've started moisturising a lot more to see if that makes a difference and I KNOW that I don't drink enough water so i'm getting on to that.
Also sucks because i've been going out on dates but feeling like crap because i'm like a spotty teenager :(
Can anyone help? I really, really don't want to start using anything chemically if I can help it.
TIA guys, any advice would be awesome xxx

I have a weird spotty zone just near to my surgical incision on my back. Dr has done swabs, nothing to detect - might be worth getting yours checked in case it's a staph infection (picked up in a gym changeroom, or something like that, kwim?) Mine seems to be clearing up since I started using a medicated soap, Ganoderm I think it's called...basically it's a very plain non-irritating soap with an antibacterial element in it. It has taken using nearly a whole cake but now improving so I'm gonna stick with it for another cake or two.

Subscribing. I'm 40 and still have breakouts! So over it! My worse area is on my neck... it's interesting that this seems to be a "weak" area of my body.... I have a thyroid condition too. I suspect it gets worse when i am dehydrated.... well, the day after I let myself get dehydrated. I rubbed aloe vera on my neck on the weekend and it seems to have made it worse :wall: I also suspect my body doesn't like dairy...

I think you might be right about the dehydration...It seems to get worse in winter and I think it's because my skin is dryer so then it produces extra oil??
Lu my diet is ok...not brilliant. For lunch I mostly have ham and salad wraps but i'll admit I don't have veggies every night...I eat two pieces of fruit as well. The thing is I have to eat a certain amount of cals and then if i'm doing two classes, because I don't want to lose weight I need to eat about an extra 800cals which I don't think I ever really have.
Do you think if I imprve diet, drink more water and moisturise more then it might help?
MD I might try that soap - at the moment I use Burts Bees body wash and face cleanser and then moisturiser.
I hope it's not a dairy thing :(

I've gone back to using MooGoo goat's milk soap to see if it helps. Have to admit also that i have been indulging in the chocolate a bit too regularly of late... Lindt has been on special quite a bit
I think the best thing we can do is simply drink more water.

CQ - it's really hard to keep an eye on our own diets being busy mummas. I think upping your calories and trying to jam some more veggies in is a good idea. You just have to remember to try and keep track if you can. Sometimes I look back at my week and realise I've been living on toast and tea more than anything else.
Skin really does dry out in winter - heaters just kill your skin. More water and moisturise morning and night with a 'oily skin' moisturiser WILL really help xoxoxo

Thank you guys! It's really getting me down...Right Bath - water challenge! Lots and lots of water and no (alright, less) chocolate ;)
Moisturise day and night and more veggies...I will do this!

I just had a big cup of water after posting my last message in here ;) I'd say it was about 300ml. Regarding the heater: We haven't tunred on the central heating yet... that is soooo drying. At the moment we have moved the tumble dryer out into our kitchen/living area and am using the heat from that! Nice and humid... good for the skin??? LOL

Well I hate to say it but I caved and went to the Dr :( After months of trying to handle this with water, natural products and moisturising I had a really, really bad breakout. Worst of all there were about 6 big horrible lumpy spots on my neck :( Now my job, i'm supposed to portray a "healthy" image and I look like crap...so I went to the Dr and he's given me this antibacterial gel.
I used it yesterday morn and eve and this morn and they've already gone down and the redness has eased...it's amazing. I hate putting this crap into my body but enough now. He also switched my pill. Apparently the one I was on (Levlen) is known for bringing out acne!! So he gave me Estelle which is suppsed toreduce Acne and i'm seeing him again in two months. I've got 5 more days of my old pill then i'll take my break and start on the new one and fingers crossed!

Yes I was once on the Diane pill (who makes up these names???) and it was meant to help with acne but like all contraceptive pills made me feel queasy so I didn't stick with that.
I meant to say that since posting in here last I have started dabbing pure Tea tree oil on each spot with a cotton bud (q-tip) as they appear... This has been working well. Might do the same job as your gel but cheaper?

I might try that then when the gel runs out. I was using toothpaste which worked but I think it might be too strong for the skin because it left red sore marks almost like a burn...eeek!
