Day Weaning before Night Weaning
ETA: This probably doesn't belong in this section, wasn't really watching. Sorry.
Has anybody done it this way around?
I see a lot of discussion on how to night wean prior to dropping all day feeds but I am interested in possibly reducing it the other way and wondering how achievable this is. At the moment my 14 and a half month old is feeding quite frequently, both day and night, which isn't really a problem for me but I think it could be effecting her solid intake so wouldn't mind trying to change this a little.
She feeds to sleep and am not too keen to mess with this (so she would feed before bed, when she wakes during the night and before her day nap which is usually around 11am which I think would be plenty in terms of nutrition for this age). The main "issue" is she snacks constantly through the day, she really doesn't even have any proper day feeds (apart from before her nap) but will be pulling my top up (or down) for 3 or 4 sucks at least every hour, maybe has a 2 minute feed at some points, loves (love, LOVES) to swap from side to side over and over and over again and generally is just playing around rather than feeding. She currently has unrestricted access to the breast but it is getting a tiny bit ridiculous, I think she is just exploring her ability to ask and choose etc. I do want to try and cut down all of this snacking a little bit, maybe even keep a few day FEEDS but if she is only having a few sucks I think we could do away with it completely without too much fuss and just keep the sleepy time feeds (she co-sleeps so does still feed a looooooot).
Anyway, the point of all of this is to ask if anyone has been here and ask how it went with trying to either consolidate the day feeding into a few proper feeds or do away with them completely. Any tips on how you did this or how long it took? I don't really think it will be difficult and will just require some distraction (we are usually sitting around the floor playing with some sort of thing so can just redirect attention to this or another activity) or am I being really naive? I'm pretty confident she will still get enough breastmilk but it wouldn't hurt if somebody could reassure me about that too  (pretty certain she is at the extreme upper end of intake currently and will still maintain a higher than required amount but yeah, hard not to stress).
Thanks.
