Won't poo or wee in the home toilet.

This is soooo frustrating.

DS3 is REFUSING to use the toilet at home. He does not wear a nappy all day at Day Care (he is full time), but as soon as we put jocks on him at home he wees/poos. So we have a training nappy on him to save the floors/carpets and our sanity.

He simply refuses to poo anywhere else but in a nappy at home. I've just changed a disgusting, overflowing nappy about 10 minutes ago. I've tried positive reinforcement but it's just not working. I'm really at a loose end.

He won't even tell us he's doing a poo, so I picked him up and was covered in it as it was coming out the legs and the top.

DS9mths has a nappy, of course, so I'm really not sure if he's associating that with something he should have too.

The most frustrating thing? He comes home from Day Care in the same clothes he leaves home in AND does not wear anything but his undies. ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the difference b/w the daycare toilet and your toilet ??? i.e the height ??? im presuming they have the little kids toilets at daycare ???
It sounds like your half way there....it really does. Maybe get one of those steppy things...get him to put some toilet paper down toilet, and flush.....show him its the same kinda thing as at daycare......start a star chart for home toilet use .....
I dunno, my DD 2.5 wont HEAR of anything to do with TT....the toilet just freaks her out...and she wants nothing to do with the potty. Ive tried these things mentioned above....and we will get there....slowly though....

We've had ours go from refusing point blank to use the potty to only using the potty to wee but pooping on the floor to using the potty for everything to kind of using the toilet ... but she runs around naked (and its cold - but clothes don't stay on). Now she uses the potty but if she has knickers on she won't take them off to go, so we have to strip her from the waist down whenever we come back from shopping or something.

The annoying thing is, every step "up" towards being properly toilet trained we haven't actually DONE anything, she's just decided to do it herself. Especially the first step where she'd scream the house down if we even dared try to get her to use the potty - and then one day just decided to wee in it!

I'm waiting for her to upgrade fully from potty to toilet. It can be a bit distracting when she comes running in with a 'normous poo in the pot for me while I'm on the phone. With loud announcements about how 'normous the poo is, which always makes whoever I'm on the phone to laugh ...

I'm hoping he just decides to do it himself one day! Please, please, please!!!

I also think it's probably to do with the height of the toilet. A step and a kiddy seat so he doesn't feel like he's going to fall in are great ideas. Kids should have something to rest their feet one while on the toilet anyway. You will get there hun :hug:

Yeah MantaRay - I was thinking of buying one of those step things.

He's quite happy to sit on the cushie tushie thing and read a book, but weeing and pooing just isn't a happening thing. He'll get there.

He recognises when he's doing it. He was just sitting at the table eating dinner with us and said, "I'm doing a wee." He was well and truly in to it, so thank goodness he had a nappy on!

I'm not sure if he isn't actually the tird! LOL!

Hey Leesa. No, no improvement. He did a big poo in his jocks tonight. I thought that if I just had him in jocks at home, maybe he would do the same thing he does at day care. He didn't wee the whole time - but he wouldn't go to the toilet either. I asked and asked. Then I took my eyes off him for five minutes and he'd filled his Thomas undies. ARRRGGGG.......

I just threw them in the bin, there was no saving them. I really am at a loss still.

Is your house cooler than Daycare? Maybe he doesn't want to go to the toilet at home because he'll get cold? :dunno: Just a thought...

Nettie, my house is always cool............ like the Fonz. Nah, seriously, our house is quite warm. It's just a thing........ he likes the Day Care toilets better than the home toilets. The DC ones are little, but the home ones are big. I'm trying to find a pottie that looks like an actual toilet because he won't even entertain the idea of a potty.
