I Think I Know Why Lots Of Women Struggle To Lose Weight Post Baby...
... because we are so busy with our baby/children that we don't get to sit and actually TASTE our food!!!
I'm starting to pack on some extra kilos after a few years of being hyperthyroid (too fast metabolism) and now can't seem to get away with eating anything anytime. So I am reassing every thing i eat.... actually stopping and thinking; do i need this?
This morning it occured to me that i was so busy trying to make my boys breakfast and school lunches etc (stopping them from fighting... getting them to SIT at the table) that I realised that i had already eaten my toast... but I couldn't remember it. So of course I went to pop another in the toaster... but thought... 'no, you don't really need that'. Hmmmm.
Wouldn't it be great if us mums had the luxury of sitting and eating our meals and actually tasting them? I think this is half the reason I get up early and leave the house most Saturday mornings and have breakfast in the city... in a quiet cafe... by myself. I savour every mouthful and then feel satiated. I tend to overeat at home... not so much when i am out and about... and when i was working and able to take time off to have my lunch in peace also recall maintaining a much healther weight.
What do you think? Maybe I should get up a bit earlier to have breakfast??? Do you? If only i could just stay seated when i am having a meal... great in theory but my boys just seem to keep me too busy... they want water... spills... wandering off and then wanting me to help in other rooms etc. I could ask that they stay at the table until i am finished but is this realistic?
