Tweenage Girls :)

DD is 8 and after spending more time with her over the past few days it has HIT me, she is a TWEEN!!

I have to admit - I am excited about it :)

I can't wait to have those awkward conversations with her. The first bra fitting and those other girlie moments :) (DD has started to wear deodorant)

I am excited to watch her blossom into a beautiful young lady as I have watched her grow and blossom into the mature little lady that she is now.

I am so proud of how I raised her and the beliefs I have given her.

I am proud that DD isnt boy crazy yet either.

I have been a little teary today thinking about it. My baby is growing up so fast.

Are there any other mama's with tween girls/boys out there that are looking forward to these things as well? Or is it just me?

Yeah, it's a lovely age, mine is nearly 12 so definitely still a tween - it's nice because she has a whole new appreciation for the girlie niceties in life...for the first time ever she now enjoys coming op shopping with me, having a cuppa out together (hers is decaf LOL), getting her hair done, just hanging out chatting and giggling. Balanced out by all the infuriating moments - not listening, thinking she knows better, answering back, dawdling to tidy room, etc LOL. But the thing I love the most is she's getting to an age where I'm starting to catch a glimpse of the sort of adult she will be be. :)

It's beautiful isnt it.

I love the feeling when you can look at your DD and have that proud moment of 'Oh thats MY girl!!!' itms?

I also love those 'You just dont understand' moments. I always say 'Darling, I was once your age ya know' and when something is really bothering her, we go into her room, close the door and we have a girlie chat so that way DP doesnt hear us and we can just have 'our time' I just hope we can keep this communication open as she gets older (teenage years) I know there will be those testing moments, but thats all apart of growing up kwim :)
