Potty training advice needed (may be TMI)

Hi everyone!

DD is 14 months and I'm starting potty training. For the last few days she's waited until bath time to do her poo :sick: and I'm really not having much fun cleaning it out night after night to be honest!!! This happened once before, when she was about 9 months, so we tried it then, but all that happened was she stopped going in the bath, and didn't go in the potty either.

So right now she's sitting on the potty, crying and upset. I've got Giggle and Hoot on, which normally she loves, but she's just not happy. Any suggestions on anything else I can be doing to get her comfortable with this?

As she is only 14 months, I'd say to wait a couple of months and give it another try, she may not be ready.

I found with my DD, she was about 26 months when we started toilet training and she took to it well, maybe cause she was that bit older

Thanks Kellie. I wanted to give it a go because she clearly doesn't want to do it in her nappy. Tonights attempt ended up with her somehow getting the tray off the potty which is supposed to keep her in the right position, scooted of, and crawled away, bum in the air, like HA, that'll teach you!

Put her in near where your toilet is and sit on the toilet at the same time :)

We have books for DD and stacking tower of ocean animals, we read her stories or ask her to find certain things in the books, she has learnt a lot of new things and can find sooo many new things in the books, so we use it as a time to learn as well :)

We also talk to her about wee'ing and poo'ing, celebrate the smallest achievement as well.

DD is doing extremely well at it, and is on morning and night and when we are home during the day, and she asked for it a few times today and I took her to it, she didn't do anyhting those times, but as she isn't eating or drinking atm due to being sick, she must feel that she needs to do something. This morning was the first time in over a month that she has done a poo in her nappy, she will even wake us up in the middle of the night if she needs to :lol:

Goodluck and give her plenty of time to sit, and she will do it in her own time :)
