when is the right time to start a doula course?

I am really wanting to do a doula course as its something I am really passionate about (thanks BB :D)
there is one starting in August in Brisbane with the Australian Doula college...dont know if I can still get in ......but I am serioulsy contenplating doing it.
Has anyone done a course through them? Or how long does a course usually run for...its only saturday arvos for a few hours?
Also Ds will only be 9 months...I dont want to take on too much and have the kids suffer?

Also am kinda scared I will do the course then be too nervous to actual go and start being a doula? Eeek way too much going through my head...sorry its a bit of all over the place lol

There never is a right time. I had a 5 month old on my hip (and an almost 3 year old!) when I did my course. The other trainees remember that really well. When it calls you, it calls you :)

Thanks Kelly...see thats how I feel...I dont seem to have an identity anymore other than the kids mum and this course is calling me...its in the back of mind all the time.....I might call them today :) x
