Phil & Ted's - which one?

Hey Everyone

I've been doing alot of research & have narrowed my choice down to a Phil & Ted's mainly because I will be going walking in the reserve close to home & they have the option of a toddler seat, as we are planning to have baby number 2 fairly quickly, but I'm stuck as to which one to buy.

I've heard that the rear foot break on the sport can be difficult to use. Has anyone found this to be the case?

My other choices are the Dash & the Vibe.

Would love to hear your opinions, both good & bad, or if you recommend a different brand.

I've got the P&T Sport and i love it. You're right though, the rear foot brake can be tough, but it does loosen over time. I often used to use my hand to take it off, but I can do it easily with my foot now.

The only other issue I have had with it is going uphill, around a corner with the toddler seat on (a very specific situation!). When doing this, the pram feels a little unsteady, but I imagine this would be the case for any 3-wheeler with a narrow wheel base.

Overall though, I have to say that I love this pram. The toddler seat is so easy to use, and very easy to take on and off.

I have the Dash and love it..

I do find with 2 kids its hard going down steps as feels heavy, when baby is in coccoon with 2 kids in it its easy to get them in and out but once grown out of coccoon when not big enough to sit on seat at back its hard but not everyone has big babies like me.

I have the sport and LOVE it. LIke Gypsy said.. the brake can be difficult at the begining but mine is starting to loosen now it's been used allot.
After trying 5 different prams the P&T sports is definatly my fav!!

I was going to purchase the P&T dash and then chose not to, I have the Strider 3 and will be upgrading to the Strider plus when next bub comes along - Have got a few friends who have the P&T prams and they are not too happy with them. They also have the issue with the brake but i am pretty sure that this is a common problem with a lot of prams (inc mine), Also when the child is in the pram asleep in the upright position it is hard for them to recline the seat without waking the little one up as it has the clip mec to recline, the other thing is if the child is alseep with the seat fully reclined there is no shield from wind etc going straight through as it is wide open, the comment about going uphill is also a issue but i would imagine that would be a common problem with all double prams due to the weight but i may be wrong! As far as my pram is concerned it is not perfect either, Its not perfect and has a few faults but i have found that it has more pros than cons for what i want and need so its totally up to you and what features you like or need. I have the Vibe & i love how it fits though most checkouts.
The annoying thing would be the lack of space to put items when out shopping with both kids in the pram & my front wheel is still dodgy even after taking it to back to get it fixed but otherwise it's great pram & i do love it.

I wouldnt buy the VIBE>. i hated it.. worst money ever spent.. My kids are short and underweight and didnt fit in the doddler seat.. I would go dash or sport

well we just picked up our P&T Dash yesterday! so i guess i dont have a great deal of experience, but on first use i seems pretty good! i am used to the handling of a bugaboo though, so have been spoilt and need to learn how to use a 3 wheel pram.

pros: easy to assemble, easy to use the brake (on the handlebar), easy to recline (although a *bit* tricky to zip up if DD is in the seat), lightweight (for a double) and easy to steer and throw around, also not so long as other double prams (the Dash is quite a compact design), nice and narrow.
cons: isnt my bugaboo :ROFL:, being a 3 wheeler can be a bit awkward to steer (but i think with practice i'll get used to it), storage when the toddler seat is fitted at the back is compromised. everything but the pram itself is an optional extra and this can add up (say if you want to get the storm cover, sun cover, cocoon etc). so i HIGHLY recommend checking out what other doubles offer as their base range and compare from there ITMS.

I had the Sports and didnt like it. Well, it was great for 1 child but when i had 2, DD had reflux, so laying down the whole time as a newborn meant she cried the whole time. There was no way to slightly raise her up even as the main seat levels was adjusted by clips. Also, having the toddler seat on the front , as DS was a big he would always look like he could fall off when he was asleep. As for the break, i would have to use my hand to lift and put it down it was soo stiff. And the amount of nails i broke due to that damn thing!

So i now have a Vibe. AWESOME! DD now sits up but the main seat is adjusted by a strap, so you can raise or lower it however much you like. The seats are ALOT wider than the sport, DS now nearly 4 fits in them with room to spare. The break is a button! So easy to put on. Definately would recommend. Spending the little extra in my eyes is well worth it.

My kids head would hit the back of the Vibe seat and it doesnt lay back very far. as the dash and sport do.. so if you kid is average height or shorter.. my kids 19 months apart it didnt work.

I have the Sport and love it. The fact that yes, the the brake is hard to activate to me = it means it roll away from me in a hurry ;-) So I like that it is hard to use.

Putting it together was an epic journey though - but pffft, how many times do you actually pull apart the entire pusher and put it back together? We never have as yet.

A Pro is that it is soooo easy to get parts if you need to online, not having to go through a manufacturer - you can do it online in a few seconds.

We have a 17 mth gap between DS and DD and it's perfect for our needs as its so adaptable. I can zip thru crowds at the shopping centre as it steers so smoothly and easily...a big thumbs up!

I have the Dash and althought i'm yet to use it with 2 kids im pretty happy with it so far. It took a while to get used to the brake on the handle but its all good now. THe only pet peeve i have is the sun shade thingy - i hate how you cant just pull it out and back, you have to pull it out and press stud it and when its not in use it just kind of flops there (i hope i am making sense lol). Its highly annoying. I have aslo found that with DS in the toddler seat when its on the front (was testing out al the possies before buying) the shade when pulled out was just about hitting his head. I;m also yet to find the perfect pram but for my needs - this came close enough.

I have the Vibe and adore it.
Yes the toddler seat is a bit small, but I found my DS worked his way around it fine and has no issues. I actually have my 8.5 month old in the toddler seat and my 3yr old in the main seat. I love how you're able to have the seats in a few different ways which is really handy.

Have the Vibe.. LOVE it!
21 months gap bewteen my kids who are both very tall for their age and no probs at all.
Not too worried about the lack of storage.. I got the P&T bags (saddle bags? Can't remember name) and they work well, although I find I have enough room in my nappy bag to store things anyway, adn I don't generally go shopping on my own but that's because of how far we have to travel to go shopping (200km round trip).
Such an easy to use pram, so light, and my mechanic husband is very impressed with the general set up.
Would def recommend to someone who wants a small age gap.
