Hi,
Would love to hear from anyone who has had a VBAC in a Queensland hospital!!!! Which hospital did you go to???
I am not pregnant yet just trying to do my research before it happens that's all. I've looked at the big listing of VBAC'ers here on BB and most people mention that they went to a hospital but they don't say where...
I am really hoping that Queensland has some good hospitals that really truly believe in VBAC!

My cousin wanted a VBAC & she went to Nambour Selangor Private Hospital. Unfortunately she wasn't successful as her bub had other ideas. I have heard that they really encourage VBACs there. I birthed my DS there (vaginal birth but not a VBAC) and found them to be wonderful.

Hiya...im having my baby at the Mater Misericordiae Mackay this time..and I birthed with my first child at the Base Hospital Mackay which was a disaster and ended up in a c-section! My ob is very supportive of my decision to try vbac and all I have learnt is that you must research and let ur ob know how strongly u feel about a vbac and write up a very precise birthing plan.. Hope this helps...how far along are you? Hope this helps...I have also heard that there is a good private hospital at the gold coast but I will have to get back to you on the name! Sorry :)
I am 99.9% sure Dr David Hill at Spring Hill is all for it... He is my OB at the moment and he said when the baby is ready to come out he is ready! And also doesn't charge management fees etc he delivers at The Wesley.....

No not preggers yet MummaK - just would like to do all the research before it happens. I am halfway between the Gold Coast and Brizzie so either of those would be fine. But would probably travel & rent accomodation in Sunshine Coast if it was a better chance ifykwim.

Definitely Selangor in Nambour. They are the MOST supportive of VBACs that I have ever heard of. My OB was even supportive of my VBA2C, however, I moved to tassie when I was 28 weeks pregnant so didn't get to have my baby there as planned.
The Royal Brisbane & Womens Hospital supports VBAC as does the Mater Mothers. The Gold Coast Hospital is quite supportive of them also.
I'm pretty sure that the Midwifery Group Practice at the Mater take on VBAC mums, so if you can be part of a continuity of care program like that, even better ;)
