What a GR8 idea - personalised learning cards
God my stepmum is a genius sometimes, i have no idea why i had never thought of the following idea but i thought i would share.
DD1 has been 'counting' and i was saying to DSM that i want to get her an ABC chart for her room (she already has a numbers & animal one) and she told me that for my brothers (7 & 9) that she made her own cards and randomly stuck them around their walls.
She tailored them to each child, the youngest LOVES thomas so she made number and alphabet cards based around thomas characters.. ie. T is for THOMAS use pictures of say 2 thomas engines to show the number 2.
Am going back home this weekend for her birthday and she has said we will laminate some and make them for DD2 i can do D is for Dorothy A is for Apple Z is for Zara (put a pic of her sis)...
How cool is the idea, you can use words your child uses or associates with rather than the random ones on the normal ABC calendars, you can get cheap stickers or get pictures from the internet or even use pictures of pets etc J is for JACK (1 of our dogs).
She made them so she had as an example A then a with a pic of an apple with the word APPLE on them. if i laminate them DD can also use a whiteboard marker to trace around the letters later on and wipe it off.
I am so excited as she's learning so quickly and it will make her room look pretty aswell.
Sorry if anyone already knew about this, i just thought it was an awesome idea and would share.
