Which CC would you chose?

Hi All,

Im feeling so stressed about this so need your advice.

My DD currently attends childcare 2 days a week. She's finally stopped crying when i drop her off (only been there for 3 months) but she hasnt made any friends and every time i see her, she is alone.

The pros of this centre are:
* DD is use to the centre
* Gov't run one so I'm hoping that they are following strict rules and cirriculum

Cons:
* Ive noticed carers change often
* Lots of kids
* No lunch provided, byo
* DD is always standing on her own when i pick her up

So im thinking of trying out another centre near my place.

Pros:
* Cleaner environment
* Less kids
* Food provided
* Friend's kid goes there and she really likes it
* Same carer
* Food provided

Cons:
* Teachers are all young (nothing wrong with that but i noticed some spelling mistakes on their noticeboard)
* Further from our house
* Don't know how DD will adjust


So should i move DD to this childcare, should i put her in 1 day a week or what should I do?

ANd should i choose a childcare closer to where DD will be attending school to make friends now?

Thanks in advance.... I'm torn and i dont want to make the wrong decision.

Oh hun it's always hard knowing whats best for them in the long run, i think the major points for me would be:

1. Constant carer - children do tend to get attached to people and knowing that aside from maybe the odd sick day she will always have the same carer/s to me is a great benefit. (maybe you could bring up the spelling error, if it's only child care and they are not specifically teaching young children to spell then i think this is a minor issue for now)

2. Friends child - are they the same age, if so is there a chance they already play well together, could they be there on the same day/s to make it a little easier for her?

3. Less Kids - i LOVE the idea of a school or child care centre with smaller ratios of staff to children, this will mean your daughter will get more interaction from the staff and possibly involved more. You may find that at the current centre they are just so overwhelmed they are not necessarily taking the effort to try and involve her in activities with others.

I hope someone has some great advice for you, i would possibly even see if the other centre would mind you taking her in one day (with you there) and having a play, meeting some of the kids etc and see how she goes?
Maybe explain the them whats happening at her current centre and see how they would address the issue if you were to change her and it continued to happen?

I would swap. The second one sounds like a good childcare, you may find it doesn't take as long to settle into this one because of less turnover and more attention being given.

For me I'd be more likely to send DD somewhere where she is happy.
I'm with Zavara on all her points.
By them time she gets to school she'll have more skills for being able to socalise so will hopefully find it easier to make friends then.

Does the new centre do a trial period? Could you try this for a while.
