Gastro in late pregnancy
I was hoping i had eaten something dodgy yesterday but no it happens to be gastro..
Usually when i have gastro i only have the vomitting but i have the other end problem. I have been keeping up my liquids so i dont get dehydrated is there anything else i should do as well?
I've spent all day in bed, only more so i dont spread it to everyone here..
I do have an appt at the birth suite tomorrow for my usual weekly check up should i cancel or go along? Ring ahead and let them know of what iv got.
And how long does gastro generally last? i cant for the life of me remember.
And is it true that an upset bowel can bring on labour?

hope you're feeling better soon
I would probably ring them and see if you can come in later in the week or early next week. You probably don't feel like going anywhere, and you don't want to run the risk of spreading it to other pregnant women/newborn babies.
I think every gastro bug is different but I'd say 24-72 hours. It can bring on labour, not sure if it would at your stage but just be vigilant and if you feel any contractions call your hospital just in case as they may want to monitor you & bubs.
I'm not sure if you can take electrolytes while pg, but if you can I'd be taking them too as they can be a bit more effective than water at rehydrating you, you can also get them in iceblock form.

I'm starting to feel better. Its been 24 hours since i first started feeling sick so im hoping its all over.
I've had some rotten BH so i might let the MW's know tomorrow.

My sister has twice suffered from terrible gastro during pregnancy (each time she worryingly lost her entire bump despite being 6 months pregnant) and neither time did it have any negative effects long term nor send her into labour. An upset bowel can send you into labour, but usually only if you are ready to go anyway. It sounds like you are doing all the right things. Try to rest and hopefully you will feel heaps better tomorrow.
