I hate my job. It is boring, repetitive mind-numbing work. The pay sucks, can't remember the last time I had any time off. If I could find someone stupid enough to take over then I would be out of here as quick as lightning.
I am wasting my life rotting away in a corner.
arte- could you find something part time, and put the kids in cc or fdc, just to mix it up a bit?
I was in a job I hated a few years ago - the pay was ok, conditions were good (public service) but I was bored out of my brain.
I quit and moved to the country, now we fart around doing random self-employed stuff topped up by Centrelink. And you know what happened?
I stopped biting my nails.
I gained several kilos (I was very very underweight)
With the weight gain, I stopped getting really horrible colds and flus every few weeks
My eyes improved and I needed to get less-strong glasses
I became *happy*.
DO IT :D
Of course now I'm 9 months pregnant, living in a rural area, unemployed and have 3 degrees to my name that are all pretty much useless in a rural area but hey - I'm happy and healthy. What value do you put on happiness?

I have been at my job for 6 + years, and i can't stand it any longer. Boss is dodgy and moody, I am bored out of my brains, pay is ok tho.....
I am preg with my 1st, so I'll be stopping work in about 6 months, but I don't think I can hold out that long!!!
I wish I could think of something to do for 6 months instead of THIS! ARGH.
Why do you have to find someone to take over before you quit???!!! You hand in your resignation & it becomes their problem - not yours & it shouldn't be yours. I can understand about being conscience and all but sheesh you sound very unhappy and that could end up being detrimental to your health.:

Ginger, Miss A gets upset if anyone else holds her so I wouldn't put her in daycare - she is just too little. And jobs around here would be a choice of vege packhouse or a check-out chick. Doubt it would even cover the cost of daycare.

MD, have enrolled for some study next semester, just waiting to hear if I am accepted. I don't know if that will relieve the day to day boredom of sitting around with whinging kids though. As for the moving...touchy subject in this house.

:hug: it does suck and I think the fact that you can't just up and quit and therefore taking the choice out of it makes it that little bit harder. I struggle with one :clap: I take my hat off to you for raising 2.
Oh, sorry hun, I didn't realise I thought you were in a paying job that was crappy! lol so, yes obviously you can't resign. Sorry, no advise just *hugs*. I work part-time & DD goes to creche then the rest of the time I am at home with her, so I get break from the 'boring, repetitive mind-numbing work':
I hope you get accepted into your course & that gives you some 'me' time and something else to focus on.
