Clear breast colostrum ?
Just wondering whether anyone else has clear colostrum leaking at 24-25 wks ?
I have only noticed it a few days ago and i thought wow this is early but i also thought well god forbid if i have a pre prem baby at least my milk will come in early!
But then i have just read that your not meant to squeeze your nipples or try to express it as this could cause pre term labour (which i have done just to see how much is there... as you do out of curiosity)
This is my 3rd bub but this is the first time it has happened this early!
cheers

I cant find my old thread but I *think* I started leaking around the 14 week mark. Something like that anyway, it was very early. I couldn't resist having a squeeze and picking off any crusty bits either. Lol
I dont know about the pre- term labor bit but despite all my playing with em, DS was born at 37+3.
I did have a go at the nipple stimulation on 37+1, my waters broke the next morning and the morning after that he was here, so maybe there is something in it, but I think I read that nipple stimulation only works if bub is ready to come? Definately check that though.
HTH :)

Mine have been producing for weeks and weeks. I started early with DD to.

I started leaking about 16 weeks. And like you couldn't resist having a squeeze. I'm now 39wk 1d produce colostrum like a Gernsey cow and have to express about 3 times a day to keep my boobs from feeling like they are going to explode. Have periodically chased my DH around the house squirting him with milk (I have a sick sense of humour and it amuses me that he gets so freaked out about it) and can DEFINITELY say it's not caused me to go into pre-term labour (have been expressing 3 times a day for a couple weeks now at least).
So I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you are squeezing them and you feel a bit of a contraction, then just stop.

Thanks for the replies : yes common sense would tell me to stop if i triggered pre term contractions .
The thing i like about it is my boobs look good again ... full and nice not droopy and as i say like 'udders'....lol

I always leaked early too, and needed breast pads by 20 weeks with all pregnancies. The upshot is I had masses of milk by the time my bubs were born. If you can, express and freeze a little colostrum in syringes from about 37 weeks so if you have trouble getting bub attached then you have something on hand to feed babe until you are both into the swing of things.

thats so handy to know thank you..... this baby might be the only baby who will be breastfed more than 5 mins lol
My other two i hated it it hurt plus i never had enough milk and never leaked this early on!
