I have just started to study via OTEN (online/distance TAFE education) and I have access to our assesments online but when I download them they are all in Adobe PDF format which makes it difficult to put it into word, I can copy and paste but all the formatting is wrong. I am sure there is an easier way and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction please?

I didn't think it was possible to do it...but I just googled "convert pdf to word document" and it came up with quite a few free software programs that can apparently do it...maybe download one of them and see how they go?
Yeah, used to be you have to have specialised reading software. I worked for a company years ago (left just prior to having Natty so lets say 4 years) and the software was still pretty ordinary. There were loads of corrections to do after the reader "read" the PDF or text on paper. I don't think there's an easier way than what you're doing, but as I said I haven't had to do it for 4 years which is a long time in technology-land. GL!
There are quite a few programs out there, are you on mac or PC?
I'm on a PC, I googled too and saw the free programs I'm just a bit wary I suppose, I don't want to leave myself open to virus's or anything :dunno:
The one I use at work is "123fileconvert"
Most of the good ones though are a free trial version prior to purchase. Some are a set # of uses and the others are set by date of install. A common trick is to keep downloading free trials of programs. BUT! some file conversions won't work and you'll have to proof-read it for accuracy.
