We made it to 6 months!

I can't believe that we have been breastfeeding for 6 months today! It feels like only yesterday that I was in tears because I couldnt get DD to attach, she would be screaming at me, I was engorged and leaking everywhere............and now its all so easy!

So after a rocky start including a tongue tie and silent reflux, I am so proud of myself and DD for making it this far :) At 5 weeks, I was ready to give up, but thanks to my support networks (friends, family and BB) I was able to get the help I needed. At each step of the way I set myself a goal, first it was 8 weeks, then 12 weeks, and now here we are at 6 months....woohoo!!!!

Bring on 12 months :D

That's fantastic Manhattan!! It feels so good to reach these milestones - especially after such a rocky start!!

I was only thinking that myself the other day, while I was remembering how sore my nipples got before they toughened up, the huge boobs, dreading the next feed...
Now it's just a matter of whacking him on and away we go!

Manhattan - you know I think you're a star... I am so glad that you have overcome all those issues. I am sorry I wasn't able to better support you in those first few months as you were such a great friend to me during my bumpy times. I am however, thankful that you had support and have continued to BF.

Well done, Manhattan!!! You and your DD have done a fabulous job with bfing and no doubt overcoming all those hurdles means you'll be a great source of support and advice for many other mothers. You should go out and treat yourself to something special for getting this far (think of all that money you've saved on formula). ;)
