Personally I would have gone over and tried to calm her. It would have been a fright to wake up in someones arm and not her bed..

maybe ask next time he is on time and not come during her naps or he would have to wait until she was awake

Maybe also have some in home visits with you in sight.. even if you do some housework or something while he plays with her.. gives her the security of knowing you are there

yeh i wanted to go over and sooth her and tell her its alright but my mum was like dont go over to her it will make it worse etc.. i know i probably should have went with my instinct and gone over to her shes usually pretty good when his mum comes too as she loves her but she still is abit weary with xp .. i just feel terrible. i dont think he would do the at home visits either.

I think it would be better to make sure she is awake before you hand her over. If he is late, he can wait until then.

Would he do the home visits at his mums place.. She is still so young and would be very confused..
