Tax deadline?

I am just wondering if there is a deadline when all tax returns must be in by?

I thought it was in October, but I've heard of heaps of individuals holding off and still haven't even completed last years tax return o8/09 yet? Don't they get penalised financially for doing it so late?

Hey babe, the deadline is 31 October unless u have your tax done by an accountant, then u have until the end of the calendar year.

There are penalties but it's not often that they actually enforce it unless u r years behind.

it is supposed to be done by end of october, but if it's done by an accountant, it can be done later (my hubby did seven years of tax when we first got together - no penalty because he had previously used an accountant and used one again to do all that).
