Post baby belly
Hi all, just wondering if anyone can shed any tips on how to get rid of this crepe paper belly that I have going on right now. My DD is 11 weeks old and while I am back to my normal body weight, my body really doesn't resemble what it used to look like. I still have a bit of fat left on my belly but the worst part is that my skin looks like crepe paper! I have been rubbing oils and creams into it but to no avail. Does anyone have any remedies they can share with me? Please?
Thanks in advance :)

Depends on how crinkly it is ;) Sometimes it'll improve with time, and your DD is only 11 wks, so give that some time hun.
I lost all my baby weight and some surplus - 36kgs in total, and I can't get rid of it and bub number 2 is 12 mths old now. The only real way to get rid of it is surgery, there aren't any magical creams or exercises to get rid of the excess skin.

I was very very afraid that I was going to get that response. LOL I am okay with the excess skin if it can't be gotten rid of, I just didn't want to have to tolerate it if there was a magical solution!! Now for trying to get rid of that dark line that looks even darker now my tummy has shrunk........oh the joys of post pregnancy bodies :)

Don't be disheartend hun, it can be easily hidden - even in size 8 clothing - LYCRA even.
I've just adjusted to no more crop tops at the gym, and only DH see's it anyways - so I hardly even think twice about it now :)

Post baby belly
My Mum had 4 kids and had a great, thin, toned belly when I was a kid - but she was in a running club (running 4 times a week) and also swam three times a week.
She didn't have the crinkly belly because she was so toned. But she was obviously training like an athlete at that time and it took awhile to get there. She wasn't so toned or as active until I was at least 10y/o.
As for the linea nigra, apparently that fades in time.

11 weeks isn't very long .. some of the damage will fade, some won't. My skin texture has never gone back to what it was but I went back to my old shape with both baby #1 and #2, I just wear higher waisted jeans and slightly longer tops so noone has to get scared by my stretchies :)
And the crepe paper effect gets worse when you lose all the fat. I don't have it at all right now but I'm 10kg overweight with a nice flubbery pot belly. Once the fat is gone ... and I'm almost 10 years past getting my initial skin stretch :(

I remember that after having DD, but low and behold it slowly went away and my skin regained it's elasticity, I am not sure how long it took, but it got there, and I am sure it took at least 6-12 months

time time time!
it's only been 11 weeks, it'll get there :)

Thanks everyone for your responses - even if some of the answers I didn't want to hear! ;)
Beema, I am hoping I am as lucky as you and my skin regulates - but from the responses, I realise this isn't likely and I'd better go and get started accepting it.
