Baby carrier for bad back?

I hope im in the right spot!! i couldnt find where else to put it - sorry if im wrong! :S

Im looking into baby carriers atm,

and i need to find one thats good for bad backs as i have a lower back problem, nothing too major, but just dont want unnecessary stress on the area...

ive seen the ergo baby carrier, and that looks pretty good...

has anyone had any experience in this area? even if you dont have a bad back, but ones that youve tried that are good and/or bad and to stay away from?

I am by no means a sling expert. I have a hug-a-bub and for me, it's brilliant! I have large breasts, had a 9pound 9oz baby and have a bad back and it's been a godsend! I've carried ds2 for 2hrs at a time with no aching at all!

I also have an ergo that a friend lent me that I'm yet to try, still loving my HAB, but keen to try the ergo soon. I've heard really good things about it.

I have an ergo for when NBA is bigger but am borrowing a hug a bub as of today and all Incan say is bubs and I love it! You really don't feel the weight of bibs once they are in place and all snug. I felt like a new women cause I got both my hands back lol

the close carrier is like a hug-a-bub but easier to get on & off.

i have heard that the ergo is good from when bub is around 4 months but others better for a newborn

I have 3 different ones!

Ergo Love it its easy and comfy from 4 months hated it with a newborn.

Close carrier love it from newborn still put DS2 (8 months) in it and dont get pain in back or neck. (Didn't use with DS1)

Babasling hated it after 4 months as pulled on neck and hurt lower back.

I have used an Ergo with 2 of my bubs. I love it! It is easy to use and easy on the back and shoulders. I also have a Hug a Bub but I find it too hot for summer use in my part of the world. I have found the Ergo good for newborns - as long as you have the newborn insert (cost us about $35). Have you looked at the Manduca? Apparently they are very similar to the Ergo.

I have a Kari-Me (sling type carrier) and it was comfortable for hours and hours at a time, even with whiplash and a bad back. I still use it now and DS is three and a half!
