We have answers - Hints & Tips moving forward?
We got into RCH for DD'2 allergy testing and had the skin ***** test done today, it came back positive to DAIRY ALLERGY and was borderline for both egg & peanut (both rated a 3)
So we have been given 2 Epi Pen's.. 1 for home and 1 to carry with her at all times and some fact sheets on how to manage her allergy along with a request to come back in 6mths and re-test.
So moving forward what can i do, i am thinking i should get her one of the anephelaxis (sp?) bracelets for when we go to parties or public events etc (in the rare instance she's not attached to me so no-one gives her food).
What else can i do to make this easier for both her and myself?
We are going to try her on soy formula as the paed said not straight soy milk before 12mths and as she is fully b/d there is no other way of testing if soy yoghurt etc will be ok, basically doing 1ml at a time by syringe.
They say 40% of kids with a milk allergy CAN also be allergic to soy so please please keep your fingers crossed for us.
So any hints or tips to make our lives easier would be VERY helpful... any recipes etc you can share or experiences would be great.
TIA.
