Well Ive just been given a whole bunch of second hand toys and other bits and bobs in prep for our first baby due Dec.
Im going to run all the soft toys through the washing machine on a gentle wash in a washer bag.
But has anyone got any ideas of how to wash soft toys that have bells, crinkly papers and squeaky parts inside?? These are all part of one of those mat sets with the dangly toys hanging down, and as it is quite nice, I wouldnt want to ruin it..
But how can I safely disinfect it?
I usually just hand wash DDs toys. When she grew out of all the 'baby' toys I gave them a good hand wash, then left them in the sun to dry, they were all fine.
i chuck them in the wash! ive never had anything not make it out the other side alive :lol: sometime some of the squeakers need a few extra days to dry the squeaky bit but normally its alllll good!
I put DS's through the machine too, depends on the toy but sometimes in a delicates bag. They all come out ok, I just give them plenty of time to air.
Put them through the machine, in a pillowcase for extra protection and / or on a gentle cycle if you want, they should be fine :)
Ooh, that's good to know, I've never been game to put them through the washing machine - DD's toys are off for a full day spa tomorrow now i know that :)
Yeah, i stick things in the washing machine all the time and they have all worked out fine.
It's funny seeing some of DD's toys hanging up to dry by their ears :ROFL:

Yep, run them through the wash - they should all be constructed to be dribble proof anyway.
Stuff that's battery powered though, I get a toothbrush or nail brush and use soap flakes and water to give them a scrub and plenty of time in the sun.
