p.rickly heat rash on face

My bub has had heat rash on his race for nearly a week now. I've been told by a few people it's normal and there isn't anything i can do about it but it looks horrible and even though it doesn't seem to be worrying him I keep thinking there must be something I can do to make sure it doesn't get any worse. From what I've found on Dr. Google it happens when bubs gets hot in the warmer months so keeping bub cool is important. Well it's pretty hot here and bubs is happy in just his nappy already and it's not even summer yet! So I'd really like to know if there's anything I can do other than keeping the area clean and cool. I did get some moogoo yesterday for his nappy rash (yes the poor little one is rashy on his butt too) :( has anyone used something like that for heat rash on the face? A nurse told me not to put anything on his face as it could block his pores even more?

LOL just saw the title of the thread put ***** the word was p r i c k l y heat rash hehehe that's not really a swear word is it!

Ds has it on his face and neck, my gp told us to use bath oils and moisturizer. It's already clearing up after a few days.

Is Blue Tiger able to have outside time in just his nappy through the day (weather dependent). Perhaps just letting the natural breeze touch his skin might help to alleviate its appearance. If its just too humid/warm in *Paradise* though, maybe a little light fan??
I agree with BR too, moisturiser will really help too :) Maybe a sensitive one perhaps, in case it does possibly have potential to irritate his face.

thanks blackrose, I put a little bit of the moogoo MSM cream on it last night and again this morning and it hasn't cleared it up but I think it's taken some of the redness out. We took him to get weighed again from the community health nurse and there was a different lady there who said it's just hormonal from my breast milk and it will be gone by about 6 weeks. The reason I thought it was p rickly heat rash was because the nurse last week told us that was what it was... anyway I just want it to go away but am happy it's nothing to serious

Yep that's my thought with your babe being so new :)
All mine got it.

It's probably just milk rash (or whatever it's called). Totally normal hormonal thing that unfortunately looks bad, but will clear on it's own. Probably best not to put anything on it.

Yep, DD had a shocking case of it (think they called it neonatal rash) over just one half of her face. The right side, and it flared up alot because she slept with her head to the right, so it was nice and hot and inflamed whenever she woke. Lasted just over a week then cleared up as quick as it came on. We took photos from the left side for that week lol
