2 weeks pregnant and bleeding
I'm not sure if this is the reight area to post this because there are so many forums lol. But I have something that is worrying me. I had a strange "period" this month. At first it was just some brown spotting and sometimes it would be like I was having a period. This had gone on for 2 weeks. I took 2 home pregnancy tests and they were both possitive. I went to the dr. and she sent me to get blood work done. My lab frsults indicated that I was a little over 2 weeks pregnant. (my number was 320 and 300 was listed at 2 weeks) I let my dr. know about the bleeding and she said that unless I had beed having cramps there was nothing to worry about. I havent had cramps at all but still i continue to bleed. I read this article on this site and wondered if maybe this is what I have. this is my first child and Im just freaking out.
During pregnancy, hormones prevent your period from occurring. Sometimes the hormone levels are not yet high enough to stop your period and therefore you have this breakthrough bleeding. It can last for around three months – after this time the placenta begins to take over hormone production from your ovaries. Some women may experience breakthrough bleeding throughout the whole pregnancy and have healthy babies, under the close watch of their carer.
