Whenever you think your kids are growing up too quickly...

I just came across a blog about a mum and her little daughter, and this line really stood out for me:

She’s not a baby anymore. Will it ever sink in? I have to keep reminding myself that she can’t get her drivers license until 2025, so at least she will still need me for rides….right?

I reckon that's a good idea. If you think your little ones are growing up too quickly, remind yourself that they won't be able to [insert task only teens/adults can do] until [insert far-off date] and all will be well because it feels like a very long time away ;)

For example, Cookie won't be able to get his/her learner's permit until about March, 2027 :lol:

Please note: This won't work if you already have teenagers and it isn't a far off date - for example, my mum can't console herself that my youngest brother won't be able to get his learner's until July, 2011 because it doesn't seem that far away :rofl:

Good to know becuase I am 24 and don't drive yet! :-P

I often tell myself that I won't see Palmer as not a baby anymore until she starts school, but really, my heart breaks every time she learns a new word!

DD2 told me yesterday that she was NOT a baby any more she was a KID

DS still wants to be my baby - and we've had a letter telling us to apply for him to go to school next year already! I have to keep telling him it will be another 12 and a half years before he gets a motorbike and 13 and a half years before he can drive my car. That doesn't seem all that long at all - twice as long as I've been married. That doesn't seem very long ago.

DS tells me he's not a baby anymore, he's a boy :ROFL: makes me laugh every time. Not sure where the last 3 years have gone though :dunno:
