Itchy Nipples
Hi girls, I've posted this question to Barb but I'd like input from anyone who can tell me if it's normal for your nipples to be a little bit itchy? I am concerned it may be thrush as I did take antibiotics for 2 days before DS was born and for 5 days after for an infected tooth. My nipples seem to be less itchy when not covered up and I was wondering if the damp environment was to blame for the itchiness (even though I'm using breast pads). Anyway I am not having any other discomfort as such and bubs is still feeding well but if it is the early signs of thrush I'd like to clear it up before it gets any worse. If it's not normal to have any itchiness than what is the treatment for thrush on the nipples?

Cherished, what kind of booby pads are you using? I found the disposable ones would make my bbs itch like crazy but then I swapped to Maz's washable ones and even though I dont leak these days I wear them because they are oh so soft and comfy. Just a thought, it may not be even related to that. Hope someone else has a better answer

:hello: hi Lily Dust! Thanks for your post, I am using the disposable ones and I know the plastic backing is not good. I have been meaning to post and ask what people make their breast pads out of because my MIL gave me a sewing machine as a 'happy baby' present and I'd like to make my own :cheer: hmmm  maybe I'll just put some folded up fleece in my bra and see if that helps :D

I have some great breast pad fabrics lying around this place. Minky, bamboo, flanno. Really need to come up and see the little guy and drop them off, I think!

YAY a visit from SnugBug :cheer: and with fabrics to boot, thank you so much! You must nearly be at the point where you don't feel much like traveling though? The train station is just around the corner if you want to come via that method and I can pick you up?
