one boob not working at 100%

my left boob as all but stopped producing. I'm after some ideas & support to help it kick back into gear. It's gotten so poor on flow rate that Jack has started to refuse this side altogether. Talk about a knock to the self-esteem!:doh:

Should I express that side between feeds?

my current plan of action includes:
*start all feeds from that side (unless morale is too low to deal with irate hungry baby) & feed for minimum of 10mins
*use lying down feeds (drowsy 3-5am wonders...) to attempt to drain boob. he can such as long as he likes, but I'm going back to sleep.
*book appointment with Lac Cons tomorrow.
*call local ABA ladies for help
*relax
*a batch of lactation cookies (because they're really yummy!)

I also find my left bb not as productive so i try to feed from that side as much as possible

It is very common for babies to prefer one side over the other. All your ideas for increasing the supply in leftie are great. Feeding more often from that side is the best thing you can do, if your little man will play along. Expressing from that side should also help. The more often the breast is drained the more milk it will make. It could a week or so though for you to notice the difference.

If your little man still doesn't like the left side and you can't get him back on it, it is possible to feed from only one side also. You might look a little lopsided for a while, but your right breast is capable of making enough milk to fully sustain your DS - think of mums who've had a mastectomy, or have twins.

I look lopsided any way. Always have. But maybe not this bad. ;)

This morning, I got down on his playmat with him & fed him on the left. Worked really well. :)

I'm also going to take him to the Chiro to make sure he's not in pain/discomfort that might make feeding that side uncomfortable. So many things on the to-do list now!

I can't add anything but wanted to give you a :hug: cause BFing dramas can cause a hit to the self esteem. You're doing so well to respond to the issue so quickly and deserve some :clap: and a bit of a :cheer: as well :D
