BRITISH pop singer Lily Allen has lost her unborn child six months into the pregnancy.

The star's spokeswoman revealed Allen was pregnant with a baby boy.
It is the second such tragedy for the 25-year-old who had a previous miscarriage in 2008.
"It is with great sadness that we have to confirm that Lily Allen and Sam Cooper have lost their baby," Allen's rep said.

"The couple ask that their privacy be respected and that they be left alone at this deeply distressing time. No further comment will be made."
Allen is the daughter of British comedian and actor Keith Allen. She announced in the summer that she would be winding down her singing career ahead of starting a family.

:crying: I'm so devastated for the poor girl, especially having to deal with such a thing on a public scale... I was just thinking of her last night, actually, wondering when she was due.

Please, no matter if you like Ms Allen or not, only positives in this thread. No matter how you feel about a person, no-one deserves such pain.

ETA: I know I've said "stillborn" here, but that's by Australian standards. In England (as far as I know), it's a stillbirth and not a miscarriage after 24 weeks (here it's 20) so at six months, her little boy may not be classed as stillborn. Still a great loss, but keep that in mind if you hear the word "miscarriage" in any other reports you hear. I just feel I need to clarify that...

I will be keeping them in my thoughts thats for sure. Poor thing i do hope the press leave them alone in this time of need

This is so sad, especially that it sounded like she was really ready for this baby, even ready to sacrifice her singing carrer.

I saw her in concert, and she is a great entertainer.

So, so devastating for her and her partner :( I heard this terrible news last night and it was on my mind when I got out of bed. DH and I are big fans of Lily Allen's music and when I told him, he was really sad for her too. Stillborn/miscarriage or whatever, any loss is a loss and I hope Lily and Sam are given the opportunity to grieve privately and without media interference. My heart goes out to them and their little lost bubba... it is so, so unfair that anybody should have to go through this.

I like her music and i was so happy to hear she was pregnant again after her loss in 2008. My heart breaks for the both of them :crying:
