how do i explain its not nice...?

my ds is 3 nearly 4 but he is really anticipating our lil girls arrival..
prob is he keeps saying his gonna stab her with a knife... :( i have told him plenty of times not to talk like that and its not nice and we dont do things like that cause they are naughty and hurt ppl but he keeps insisting he can do it...
i know his words are harmless ( i hope??:o) but t:ohe words still disturb me alot...
he loves her sooo much already he always asks if she is ok and tells everyone he is getting a baby sister n asks me is she coming today etc...
but he can also say some pretty violent things that his going to do to her... maybe im just over reacting but it still plays on my mind why he would even think those sort of things up??:shakehead:

It's pretty hard to hear.

My DS started saying he was going to stab people in the eye with a pencil eeekkkks! I worked out he picked it up from his dad who told him not to run with a pencil in case he fell over and stabbed himself in the eye. Then I reacted to his dad's overreaction and told him not to be so graphic......and a new phrase was born in DS's vocab *groan.

Point being, they can pick things up from weird places (even overhearing the news on the radio for example) and it sounds just AWFUL.

I would say to DS, of course you aren't - oh look over there! Maybe you can do the same and change the subject. He's probably a smart little cookie and judging your reaction and filing it away for later :lol:

Has he seen a birth show by any chance? you know when they cut the umbilical cord? Is he perhaps thinking along those lines?

lulu- yeah i thought maybe he has heard it but we dont talk like that his obsessed with that stage at the moment its scary...

aus- na he hasnt he thinks she comes out my mouth lol!!! no idea where that came from
