I WISH I could stop work!

I am 31 weeks, Planned to stop work at 35 weeks, which is the exact same day I have to move into my new house! It's going to be absolutely hectic. I will have no time to rest b4 bubs arrives.
I would love love LOVE to stop work even just one week earlier... I work in admin, so the job isnt difficult, it is hard on my back tho. And the room I am in I get so hot like I want to pass out, but clients and staff members get annoyed and complain to the boss if the air cond is circulating! Even tho it's 28 degrees outside, and I only have the fan slightly on.... jerks.
The problem is... although I have worked here many years, I have always chosen to be casual due to the dramatic difference to the permanent hourly rate.
If I don't work.... I don't get paid.
I havent seen my husband for at least 6 months.... the S O B took off when I fell pregnant. So no support from him. It's just me.
Should I just stick it out?
How else could I make some cash when I'm 8 months pregnant!?

My DP works fulltime, but the money I'm making is helping us get some savings behind us and get ahead with bills etc. I work 30 hours week on a casual pay, so the money is awesome. The work though is total utter crap, its very mentally exhausting. I'm basically a telemarketer. If I werent pregnant, I wouldnt be there. I've thought of other things I could do while being pregnant, but it took me long enough to find this job I'm not confident I'll find something before bubs is born lol. And I cant get assistance from centrelink for looking for work because my DP earns right on the cut off haha.

The thing that gets me through the long hard days, and what will have to get me through the next 5 weeks (I was going to work until 36weeks, but the place closes for 3 weeks over xmas, so I will finish at 33weeks), is I'm doing it for my baby. This money is for my babies future. Every time I feel sad and down about work, I think of bubs and struggle on. Just think, you only have 3 weeks until your done! You have heaps to organise with moving, so you have something to keep you occupied and "count down to". I find all sorts of things to count down to, lol. Like on thursday is my midwife appointment, friday night I see Harry Potter haha. Then thats suddenly another week down.

I guess just try and keep reminding yourself of WHY your doing it. For your little one. It's hard though. If you did find it unbearable and do leave, perhaps you could get assistance from centrelink?

I'm sorry, I've not really been much help. I'm struggling with the same thing myself (not the sam situation obviously, but I do feel you!), so really dont have much more to offer. :hug:

I don't know how you would make money if you left- just wanted to ask if you have spoken to centrelink to see what benefits you may qualify for now and after bubs is born.

When is bubs due? Hopefully you will get the 18 weeks maternity leave pay :crossfingers:

You poor thing! I am exactly the same place (also 34 weeks and suffering the heat at work). My work is great but the building sucks, it is really hot and stuffy! I am going to work to 38 or 39 weeks because of finances but at least I have mat. leave so not so bad.

It must be against OH&S for them to expect you to work in those conditions, are you allowed to bring in a portable fan, or is there an OHS person you can talk to?

I have a little desk fan and drink lots of water which is helping... a little. It must be very hard for you in those circumstances, I wish you all the best with it!

Also have you spoken to centrelink about maybe a hardship payment or getting some maintenance money from your husband? Not sure what the rules would be in that circumstance but surely he has some legal responsibility to support you
