What did your plug look like?

What did your mucous plug look like? I don't remember losing mine with my last two kiddies, but I just passed what I think might be some of the plug.

So... what did yours look like? What colour was it and what consistency? And how much of it was there? How long after you lost your plug did labour start?

Its ok babe! Mine was a tampon sized jelly looking thing with a tiny bit of blood in it. I had Pre labour for around 2 weeks after I lost it but never had a chance to go into labor. I was 3 cm dilated though! Good luck hun!!!

I don't remember losing mine with DD, but with DS I lost it about three hours after labour had started!

It was basically a massive glob of snot, like the size of an egg or thereabouts (bigger than I'd expected!!), streaked with bright red blood.

Went to the loo, looked at my undies and went "guess that's my plug!!!"

How's that for tmi :lol:

Mine looked like a big glob of clear jelly with blood streaks in it- pretty much the same as OP. I started getting pre-labour pains (like period pains in my lower back) pretty much straight away and about 3 hours later was in early labour.

Yep, that sounds like it! Big globs of snot, like firm jelly. Only very lightly blood stained though? Have been losing it all afternoon in smallish amounts but just had a large loss when I went to the loo.

Well it hasnt been that long since i lost mine! Mine started out like big globs of thick eggwhite. It was clear and jellyish and a bit like stronger ewcm. I started to lose it a week before i went into labour. The day before i went into labour though i had 2 big globs (50cent peice sized about) and they were streaked with brown - like old blood. Then that same day there were little bits the same colour coming out here and there.

Yep, mine was snot like too. Gross stuff! But with DS I lost mine in bits and peices over time, about 2ish weeks. Apparently it can regenerate I was told and its not unusual to lose bit over a few weeks during late pg. But good luck, it means things are starting to happen!

yep mine was a snotty consistency aswell, i lost it at 3 or 4 different occasions about a week before ds was born. mine was never blood stained though but it was def my plug, i went to the loo and when i wiped there it was wobbling away at me :rofl:

Mine also was thick snot like consistency however it was very pink crossed with dark brown no hint of clear, EWCM etc. Once it started coming it didn't stop either. I could feel it and would run to the loo and wipe and it would happen again. I got the first bit at 9am 19th and it continued during the day. I went up to the hospital as I was under 37weeks and was sent home again. Was back at hospital at 3am 20th as there was so much of it I didn't know what was going on. They kept me in as I was under 37weeks and at 530am my waters broke on there own and DD was born a few hours later just over 24hrs since the show started.

I lost mine over a few weeks with DD2 it was quite bloody and thick mukosy consitosy.

With #1 it was thick and dark brown, not clear at all - Just like Mildez said.
Then with #2 it was blobs of clearish jelly like stuff that was blood streaked.

Both happened pretty much the day before they were born.
