As the title says DS who is 8 months old has got 5 teeth and 3 on the way and nearly all day he is grinding his front 4 teeth.
I am worried that he will damage his front teeth.
I have tried everything rusks, teethers, dummies, bottles, damp/frozen cloth.
It's also a horrible noise, like scraping your finger nails down a blackboard
Has anyone else had their babies grinding their teeth and if so did anything help in stopping it?
DD did it everytime a new tooth came through. Thankfully she hasn't done it for a little while..it's the worst sound! Ignoring/distracting worked for me, but I don't think she was as bad as your DS seems. Not sure if there is anything else you can do, but he will eventually stop, and he will lose his baby teeth so try not to stress too much! I was so upset with myself when DD chipped one of her front teeth on the bath a couple of weeks ago, but tried to console myself with the thought that she won't have those teeth forever!
My DS did this from about 8 months to 10 months (I think), the more I tried to stop him the more he did it (and laughed). He eventually stopped when I ignored it....easier said than done though. I think almost all children do it at some stage.
My DS also did this at about the same age. The noise was awful. But it stopped after awhile, every now then he will start up again for a couple of days and then stop again... Not sure what drives it, but they do stop.
i can assure you its very normal, very common and he will stop! its nothing to worry about (unless he's still doing it when the adult teeth come through)
DS does it whenever he's teething. I agree it's a horrible sound. As others have said if I try to get him to stop he just does it more :wall:
Yep, my two have done the same! Whenever a new tooth is about to come through.
