Stupid cotton thread VENT

LOL I have spent 2 days trying to start a roll of cotton that I bought from Lincraft. Why the bloom'n hell can't I find the start of the thread :wall: I bought 4 different colours and the red one took a while but it had a little bit of the thread hanging out so I had to pull it out from underneath and then found the start but with this one it's just never ending and now I'm wondering if I started pulling the right part. To make matters worse I've broken another part so at some point that will show up when I start using the cotton... IF I ever find the start :wall::wall::wall: Does anyone else ever have this problem and what can I do?

Is it a 'guterman' brand thread, or what kind of spool is it on? If one end is bigger than the other, you can usually pull the bigger end of the spool out a bit and you will find the end in there (its the same place where you store the loose end, and it usually has little 'teeth' that keep it in place...lol does that makes sense????)

I have no advice, but that did give me a little giggle..lol. It's like trying to find the end of the cling wrap!

OK EVERYONE CAN HAVE A BIG LAUGH AT MY EXPENSE :doh::doh::doh: I decided to open another cotton to see exactly what I should have been looking for and low and behold it's as clear as day tucked up under the other threads in the OPPOSITE direction so I go back to the one I've been playing with and it's right there :wall: so now I will have 3 breaks in the cotton at some point! what a donkey <ear ore, ear ore, ear ore>
