Help cleaning blender???

I have a Lumina Blender and Grinder from Aldi which MIL uses to make her breakfast everyday then leaves still dirty on the bench. :angry: Now it's got gross bits of fruit stuck at the bottom of the blender and I can't get it clean. The box says it's "detachable for easy cleaning" but I can't work out how. The instructions are useless and only show how to put it together.
Anyone have one and know how to do it??

I usually just soak things in boiling water - that usually gets rid of any caked on stuff? And then hide it so that she can't use it!! :)

Tried that already, it's like it's been there for a few weeks and she's just ignored it or not noticed. Every time I look at it I feel sick, it's never properly cleaned :sick:

I was going to put it away but I thought that might be a bit too passive aggressive. :lol:

I don't have that blender but I know with mine if you turn it upside down the bit underneath screws undone-took me ages to figure it out cos it didn't look like it did.

That's what I thought too, and that's the way it assembles according to the instructions but I tried it and it wont budge. :(

maybe I should just give it to MIL and buy myself a new one when I need it. We rarely use it anyway.

Mine was really tight to undo, so maybe that's the problem. stupid MIL's LOL

Put hot water in it and a few drops of dishwashing liquid. Turn it on and it will act as a dishwasher. It might take a couple of goes but it works every time. Get in the habit of doing this immediately after you use it and you'll never have the problem again :)

For really really really gross caked on stuff I fill with hot water and throw in a dishwasher tablet. Lifts everything off.

Rouge - it's not me leaving it gross, it's MIL. She uses it at 6am every morning (almost directly outside our bedroom door when we're all still asleep :() and leaves it sitting on the bench until the next day when she uses it or one of us cleans it. :wall:
