Anyone got any iideas what this could be or what i should do??

DD seemed to have a tiny bit of a blocked nose today. noteven totally blocked, just a little snuffly, no temp or other probs atall, but both DH and I said we thought she was getting a cold or something.
She had a few big stacks today...she falls over ALOT so its nothing out of the ordinary really, she slipped over in the bathroom at about 11am and hit the back of her head on the tiles, wasnt that bad, a few mins of crying and then she seemed fine the rest of the day.
I put her to bed at 7.30 and she has already woken up twice wimpering, coughing and gagging as if she is going to be sick, but not actually been sick, she has no temp to speak of, no other symptoms. all i can think about is her banging her head and now she is showing signs of being sick :pray:!
any ideas???

If she's a bit snuffly, could the snot be running down the back of her throat instead of out her nose? I know it happens to me a lot, especially with sinus infections, and when you lay down it's absolutely awful.

If it is some sort of post-nasal drip, then propping her up a bit should help.

She hit her head nerly 12 hours ago, so it shoudln't be anything to do with that.

She could have concussion...nausea, vomitting (or trying to vomit) can be a sign of concussion. It might be best to err on the side of caution and get her checked. Sorry I know that's not what you want to hear at this time of night :hug:

I was going to say the same as MD beckoes. Head injuries don't really have a time frame.

I agree to get it checked out. What state are you in? Maybe call Nurse On Call if you are in Vic as a starting point?

my first thought was also concussion. However, if she has a runny nose, when she's laying down flat, the mucous will run down her throat into her tummy - which will also make her gag. And if she's sick, that would have affected her balance earlier today. Had she been whimpering at all before her fall?

I would get her checked as a precaution but it's up to you.

Thanks so much ladies, didnt gt chance to post back last night as DD woke up ever ten mins!! we talked about taking her to the hospital if she got worse or was sick, but it turned into a bit bit of a temp and more of a cough than being sick so DH slept in bed with her and she is ok this morning, really stuffed up but fine. Thanks all for you replies.
