gastric, but no temps
DD2 was sent home from school yesterday with gastro.
she has had watery stools, that are pale yellow in colour and smell of sour milk.
she hasn't had a temp nothing, small vomit this am after her bottle
she seems to do them about 20-30 min after having a bottle.
she is sleeping more than normal, but not alot more if that makes sense.
and i have just been keeping her in her cot or on my lap as i dont want everything going in her mouth
help what should i do???
oh we saw the doc yesterday arvo, no concerns from her either. nill tender tummy or discomfort

thats interesting.
i knwo all the how to stop it spreading and incubations stuff
im just baffled, as i dont feel its gastro, she has no signs, no tummy pain nothing.
not one temp at all.
she just drinks her bottle then has explosive poo..
im starting to think she is becoming sensitive to lactose like her sister?
but the house has been disinfected from top to bottom today and all nappies she has used been washed in a canastan wash as well :)

My 7yo had symptoms, or lack of symptoms, just like your DD. That was last week. Now this week my 4yo has gastro but WITH a temp and vomiting. I can only assume different kids react differently.
Off to read Rouge's article now...

Thanks K :) Likewise!
Seems like I'm doing well so far in terms of those guidelines... but keeping my 4yo away from the general public, i have to admit, is tricky because there is no one to help me do the school run. My 7yo is back at school today (his last bout of gastro was on Saturday but on Monday morning he was just too pale and drained to go to school so i kept him home. He was fine today (he has missed soooo much school this term) but I have to push my 4yo in a pram to take him to school. I will though make sure my 4yo doesn't get out of the pram or touch anyone or anything. Maybe I should let him play with my iphone (games) on the school run this afternoon so he will want to pull the hood of the pram over his head??? LOL Oh and then make sure I sterilise the phone when we get home! Apparently a swabbed mobile phone has more germs than a public toilet seat! eeek!
Seriously though I agree that people DO need to take gastro more serious especially when it comes to quarantine. I'm just lucky that I don't need to work outside the home and don't have a boss to answer to!
