My DS was only 4 months old last Christmas, I must admit we gave him A LOT! But I felt that if we gave him toys etc that he could grow into then it'd save us buying more and more through the year IYKWIM? It has been handy to pull new things out that he hadn't seen before and we really didn't buy him much else before his birthday in August. We stuck mostly with nice wooden things that would last.
Eco toys has some gorgeous wooden toys and BPA free bath toys if you were looking for a toy type pressie.
We're going to get DD some wooden toys - will check out that website Kate!
My mum has gone nuts though, and apparently there are a few parcels on their way to us now :o So we're not getting DD a lot, in fact probably just one thing from us as the rest of the family seem to think that an 8 month old needs X, Y and Z. :o
*sigh*
:)
mummasue, has your mum checked out the UK mothercare sale? i can send you a link (mum sent me) lol
when my first son was born he was 2 weeks old at xmas and i got a rocker and clothing and toys for later on
